NAHCON starts flying Nigerian pilgrims back from Saudi Arabia tomorrow, June 3, officially wrapping up the 2026 Hajj operations. Max Air kicks off the return trips with pilgrims from Nasarawa State. Flynas and Air Peace join the operation on June 4, transporting pilgrims from Ogun and Oyo states respectively.

If you're a returning pilgrim, here's what you need to know: strictly stick to the baggage limit. You are allowed exactly two 23kg checked bags and one 8kg hand luggage. NAHCON warns that exceeding this could cause massive delays or even get you removed from the flight manifest.

You also must notify relevant officials at least 48 hours before your scheduled departure. This is crucial because the commission keeps all passports in safe custody throughout the stay to prevent loss or damage, and they need time to process your travel documents.

The 2026 Hajj saw improved welfare services, with many pilgrims praising the new NAHCON leadership for addressing accommodation and feeding concerns quickly.

Do you have family returning from Hajj? Make sure they are aware of the strict 48-hour notification rule and baggage limits to avoid getting stranded at the airport.
