NCS AEO Program Generates ₦1.585 Trillion Revenue, 29.68% Growth

Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) generated ₦1.585 trillion from 51 Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) certified companies in 2025, representing 21.77% of total revenue. This marks a 29.68% increase from ₦1.222 trillion before certification, reflecting significant growth in compliance and trade efficiency. The AEO program achieved 85% average compliance, reducing cargo clearance time by 75% (from 168 to 41 hours) and cutting operating costs by 57%. Demurrage payments dropped 90%, improving foreign exchange retention. NCS attributes this success to rigorous evaluation aligned with World Customs Organisation standards and the 2023 Customs Act.
