NDC assures all cleared aspirants can join primaries nationwide May 29
The National Publicity Secretary of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Osa Director, says no aspirant who cleared the screening process will be denied participation in the party’s primaries. Speaking in a statement today, he warned that any action by state chapters or officials to block a duly cleared aspirant is null and void. He emphasized that the NDC remains committed to accountability, transparency, fairness, and inclusivity, and directed party members to conduct the primaries peacefully and according to the party constitution. The primaries for presidential, governorship, National Assembly, and State Assembly elections will hold nationwide on May 29, 2026. State Assembly primaries will take place within respective constituency areas, while all other primaries will occur at the local government level as previously communicated. Aspirants are advised to confirm their clearance status and participate accordingly, while officials are reminded to uphold the party’s guiding principles throughout the exercise.
