NELFUND Extends Student Loan Portal for 2025/2026 Session
NELFUND extends its Student Loan Application Portal for institutions that formally requested additional time for the 2025/2026 academic session, allowing eligible students extra application time. The extension, announced by NELFUND's Director of Strategic Communications, Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, applies only to participating institutions. NELFUND Managing Director Akintunde Sawyerr reiterated the Fund's commitment to ensuring access to student loans for low-income students in public tertiary institutions. The initiative provides interest-free loans covering tuition and living expenses, with repayment required after education and employment. Beneficiaries include 1.16 million students who received ₦206bn in loans since 2024. Affected institutions should submit applications through the official portal before the extended deadline.
