Nigeria has been elected to chair the United Nations Special Committee on Peacekeeping Operations (C-34) for the 54th consecutive time, reaffirming its leadership role in global peacekeeping. The Charge d'Affaires of Nigeria's UN Mission, Syndoph Endoni, was elected Chair by acclamation at the UN Headquarters in New York. Nigeria is the world's 15th largest troop contributor to UN peacekeeping operations and the eighth in Africa, with a long-standing commitment to peace and conflict resolution. Endoni emphasized Nigeria's dedication to peaceful conflict resolution and innovation in peacekeeping, including data-driven decision-making and force protection. This re-election strengthens Nigeria's position as a key player in international peace and security efforts.
