Nigeria saw a 28% increase in spyware attacks and 22% growth in password stealers in 2025, according to Kaspersky telemetry. These malicious programs steal user data and account information, respectively. While exploits decreased slightly, ransomware remains a high-risk threat for organizations. Kaspersky blocked over 4 million online attacks and 9 million on-device threats nationwide. Experts advise Nigerians to avoid suspicious links/attachments, use official software sources, install updates promptly, enable multi-factor authentication, and maintain strong backups. Security solutions like Kaspersky Next and Premium can further reduce cyber risks.
