Nigerian footballer Victor Udoh dies at 21 in Abuja

Victor Udoh, 21-year-old Nigerian footballer and former Southampton forward, has been found dead in Abuja. The young athlete, who recently returned to Nigeria after playing for Czech club Dynamo České Budějovice, was discovered deceased the morning after going out with friends. The cause of death remains unclear, though reports suggest possible food or alcohol poisoning. Udoh had an impressive career starting with Hypebuzz FC in Abuja before joining Royal Antwerp in 2023, where he scored 12 goals in 21 games during his first season. He later played for Southampton before moving to the Czech Republic. Both Southampton and Royal Antwerp have paid tribute to the talented young player. Southampton expressed being "devastated" by his passing, while Royal Antwerp mourned the loss of their former player who made such an impact in his first season with the club.
