The Nigerian government has urged the Super Eagles to give their best from the first whistle to the last in Wednesday's AFCON semifinal against Morocco. Minister of Information Mohammed Idris delivered the message on behalf of the FG, telling players: 'You carry the hopes of millions of Nigerians. They believe in you and draw strength from your performances.'

The message emphasized the team's history of discipline and fighting spirit, referencing past AFCON triumphs: 'Those victories were not accidents. They came from teamwork, confidence, and a fighting spirit. You have shown that same spirit in this tournament.'

Nigeria faces host nation Morocco tonight at Stade Mohammed V in Casablanca for a place in the final. The government's message challenged the team to 'play with the confidence of champions, the unity of brothers, and hunger,' while reminding them they 'possess the qualities to take it even further.'

The Super Eagles reached the semifinals after finishing second in Group B behind Egypt, then defeating Cameroon in the quarterfinals. Morocco, tournament favorites, have won all their matches so far, including a 2-0 victory over Senegal in their quarterfinal.
