Troops rescued 34 kidnap victims and apprehended a suspected ISWAP informant in coordinated operations across Nigeria in the last 24 hours, as reported August 2, 2026. In Borno, Operation HADIN KAI saved 31 civilians from terrorists along Buratai-Kamuya road in Biu LGA after detecting abductions via CCTV. In Adamawa, 232 Battalion Tactical arrested a suspect at Garaha Market, Hong LGA. Separately, troops freed a woman and her two children kidnapped July 29 from a Ruga settlement along Obajana-Jakura-Tajimi road in Lokoja LGA, Kogi.
The operations yielded significant recoveries: troops in Zamfara forced terrorist withdrawal during cattle rustling encounter in Tsafe LGA; in Plateau, Operation Enduring Peace responded to a herder attack in Bassa LGA; and in Delta/Imo, Operation UDO KA arrested three terrorists linked to May 4 troop ambush, recovering 4 AK-47s, one FN rifle, pistol, 11 AK-47 and 2 FN magazines, 239 assorted rounds, plus military gear from camps. These actions disrupted ISWAP/JAS and allied terrorist networks nationwide.
