Nigeria's ambassador presents credentials in Cyprus, pledges stronger ties
Nigeria's Ambassador to Israel Nkechi Ufochukwu, also accredited to Cyprus, presented her Letters of Credence to President Nikos Christodoulides at the Presidential Palace in Nicosia on Friday. The Nigerian Embassy in Israel confirmed this in a Saturday statement.
Ufochukwu conveyed President Tinubu's goodwill message and pledged to strengthen bilateral relations during her tenure. President Christodoulides welcomed her, citing historical ties and Nigeria's strategic role in West Africa. Both sides identified cooperation areas: economic relations, trade and investment, education, political dialogue, and addressing common challenges through bilateral and multilateral engagement.
The ceremony formally establishes Ufochukwu as Nigeria's principal envoy to Cyprus and opens official communication channels between Abuja and Nicosia.
