Nigeria's ambassadorial postings system criticized as dysfunctional
Political scientist Kunle Fagbemi says Nigeria's ambassadorial postings system is dysfunctional, causing embarrassment. He stated on Arise Television that the Federal Government cannot publish ambassador-designates' names until they complete induction courses. Fagbemi criticized the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and presidency for conflicting practices, noting that posting information should come from the Ministry, not the presidency. He also blamed Special Adviser Bayo Onanuga's statements for exacerbating the issue, pointing out that only two ambassador-designates have received agreements to report to duty.
