NiMet forecasts sunshine storms and rains across Nigeria Saturday-Monday
NiMet issued a weather outlook on Friday predicting sunshine with patches of cloud over the north on Saturday morning followed by thunderstorms and moderate rains in parts of Taraba Adamawa Kaduna Borno Bauchi Gombe Jigawa Katsina and Kano later that day. In the North Central region morning storms are expected over Plateau Niger Nasarawa and the FCT shifting to Kogi Benue and again Plateau Niger Nasarawa and the FCT in the afternoon evening. The south will see moderate rains in Ondo Ogun Cross River Akwa Ibom Rivers Lagos and Bayelsa in the morning spreading later. Sunday brings similar patterns storms in Zamfara Sokoto Kebbi Adamawa and Taraba in the north then Borno Jigawa Yobe Bauchi Gombe Kano Katsina Kaduna Taraba and Adamawa later North central sees Niger and Kwara storms morning then widespread afternoon evening rains the south expects light rains in Cross River Delta Bayelsa Akwa Ibom Lagos and Rivers morning then thunderstorms later. On Monday partly cloudy skies north with light rains in Bauchi Jigawa and Yobe morning then thunderstorms with moderate rains across the region afternoon evening North central sunny morning then storms nationwide south cloudy with light rains in Edo Cross River Delta Bayelsa Akwa Ibom and Rivers morning then storms later. NiMet warns of strong winds flash floods advises securing loose objects avoiding floodwaters disconnecting appliances staying clear of tall trees and for airlines to get airport specific weather reports.
