The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has extended its Special Passport Intervention Exercise in the United Kingdom from September 19 to October 3, 2026, following a high turnout of applicants. In the first four days, 1,477 Nigerians were processed and enrolled, with more than half already having their passports produced and dispatched to their addresses.

This extension matters to Nigerians living in the UK who need a new or renewed passport, offering a dedicated, cashless service with clear fees. Applicants must book an appointment via the High Commission of Nigeria’s UK website and bring the completed application form, payment receipt, appointment slip, current passport (if applicable), and a self‑addressed return envelope.

Fees remain $162 for a five‑year passport booklet and $242 for a ten‑year booklet, with no additional charges for the intervention exercise. The extension aims to accommodate the rising demand and ensure more eligible applicants are served. Will you book an appointment before the October 3 deadline to secure your passport through this exercise, or rely on regular processing channels?
