NIS Extends UK Passport Exercise to Oct 3 After 1,477 Processed

Nigeria Immigration Service has extended its special passport intervention exercise in London and Manchester by two weeks, running now from September 19 to October 3, 2026, after processing 1,477 applicants in the first four days. Over half of those already have their passports produced and dispatched. The extension, approved by Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, aims to meet high demand from Nigerians in the UK.

Applicants must book appointments via the High Commission of Nigeria’s website in the UK and bring a completed application form, payment receipt, appointment slip, current passport (if applicable), and a self-addressed return envelope. The process remains fully automated and cashless, with fees set at $162 for a five‑year passport and $242 for a ten‑year booklet—no extra charges for the intervention.

The NIS says further details on locations and procedures will be shared through its official channels and the High Commission’s platforms.
