The Nigeria Immigration Service has extended its special passport intervention exercise in London and Manchester to October 3, 2026, following a high turnout of Nigerians seeking passport services. The exercise, which began on September 19, will now run through October 3 after 1,477 applicants were processed in the first four days, with more than half already having their passports produced and dispatched.

This extension matters because many Nigerians in the UK rely on timely passport issuance for travel, work, and study. The additional capacity ensures more eligible applicants can be served without delays. Passport fees remain $162 for a five-year booklet and $242 for a ten-year booklet, payable through a strictly cashless system, with no extra charges for participating in the intervention exercise.

Applicants must book appointments via the High Commission of Nigeria in the United Kingdom website and bring a completed application form, payment receipt, appointment slip, current passport (if applicable), and a self-addressed return envelope. Further updates will be shared through official NIS and High Commission channels. Will you book an appointment to secure your passport before the October 3 deadline, or explore alternative renewal routes?
