NjiaPay Raises $2.1M to Expand African Payment Solutions
NjiaPay, a South African payment management startup, secured $2.1 million in seed funding led by European investor Newion. This follows a $1 million raise in January 2025. The funding will support growth and expansion into additional African markets. NjiaPay's platform helps online businesses manage payments across multiple providers through a single integration, routing transactions to the most successful provider and reducing failed payments. Founded in 2024, the startup spun out from Talk360 after founders struggled with payment system management. After switching to NjiaPay, Talk360 reduced six payment integrations to one and saw a 25% boost in checkout conversions. The startup claims many African companies rely on multiple payment partners, creating confusion and extra work. NjiaPay's software automates routing and provides a unified dashboard for tracking payments across countries and providers. Newion's investment reflects a shift toward infrastructure-level fintech solutions in Africa, where the sector captured 70% of startup capital in 2024.
