NNPP says it's not part of G-100 coalition ahead of 2027 elections
NNPP National Chairman Agbo Major declared on Arise Television that the party is not part of the G-100 coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections. Speaking in an interview on Sunday, Major said the NNPP had nominated a presidential candidate but had to step down due to logistical and administrative challenges. He added that the lack of a presidential candidate reflects the party’s ongoing consultations and understanding with other political groups. “We are still reviewing all available options. The party will meet very soon to take a definitive position on our next steps,” he said. Major emphasized that the NNPP is not part of the G-100 coalition, describing the coalition as an experiment that remains to be tested. He expressed caution about the caliber of politicians seeking to join the alliance, noting that the party has not been involved in such tough negotiations for a long time. “The issues will be who steps down for the other,” he warned, highlighting potential conflicts over leadership within any prospective alliance.
