NorthMacedonia Halves Fuel VAT to Curb Pump Prices
North Macedonia reduced VAT on petrol and diesel from 18% to 10% to counter rising Middle East war-driven fuel costs. Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski announced the two-week measure starting Monday midnight, aiming to keep petrol prices stable while diesel rises 3-3.5 denars (0.04-0.05 euros) per liter. Current prices were 1.40 and 1.49 euros per liter respectively. Global oil markets remain below $120/barrel despite recent gains.
