NRC suspends Warri-Itakpe Train Service for critical operational assessments. The Nigerian Railway Corporation announced Tuesday it's temporarily halting the service to carry out safety checks aimed at improving reliability and service delivery on the corridor. According to the NRC statement, the suspension is due to operational exigencies and technical advice from engineers. The corporation regrets the inconvenience but promises passengers will be informed by end of week on when normal operations resume. Meanwhile, the Federal Government has slashed train fares by 50% for the Sallah celebration period. The reduction, announced by the Ministry of Transportation, aims to make rail travel more affordable for Nigerians during the festive period. For regular travelers on the Warri-Itakpe route, this means either finding alternative transport or waiting for official updates on resumption.
