Oando AGM approves digital assets, cross-border listings after unanimous vote
On 17 September 2026, Oando PLC held its 47th Annual General Meeting where all resolutions were passed, including the re‑election of directors Ademola Akinrele SAN, Omamofe Boyo, Ikeme Osakwe and Adeola Ogunsemi, the re‑appointment of BDO Professional Services as external auditors, election of the Statutory Audit Committee and approval of directors' remuneration.
Shareholders also amended the memorandum and articles to allow physical, electronic or hybrid general meetings and to include provisions for digital assets, cryptographic technologies and distributed ledger technologies, subject to applicable laws. The board was authorised to pursue listings on other stock exchanges, including cross‑border listings, pending regulatory approvals.
Mrs Bisi Bakare praised the Board's strategic shift from broad‑based exploration to disciplined asset prioritisation in mining and infrastructure, while Group CEO Jubril Adewale Tinubu emphasized operational control, clear accountability and responsible capital allocation to deliver growth. Chairman Ademola Akinrele thanked shareholders for their continued confidence and thoughtful engagement.
Investors should watch for upcoming regulatory approvals for the tech amendments and any announcements on cross‑border listings, which could affect Oando's market access and shareholder value.
