Ogun State Waste Management Authority (OGWAMA) has initiated a comprehensive waste evacuation operation to clear accumulated backlog across the state. Newly appointed Special Adviser Farouk Akintunde confirmed all authority machinery is deployed in major towns including Abeokuta, Sango-Ota, Ijebu-Ode, and Ifo. Night operations, previously suspended, have resumed fully. Following resolved issues with the Waste Managers Association (AWAN), members are now actively contributing to waste clearance in their assigned areas. Residents are urged to properly containerize waste at home for collection instead of roadside dumping, with warnings of prosecution for violations.
