Former Super Eagles captain Austin 'Jay-Jay' Okocha says it's difficult to compare himself with Brazilian legend Ronaldinho, though he calls Ronaldinho the most skilful player he ever played alongside. Speaking in an interview with Clutch 9 published today, Okocha was reacting to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta's comments about their time together at Paris Saint-Germain, where Arteta said he couldn't decide who was more skilful between the two.

Okocha described Ronaldinho as a 'genius' whose talent was immediately obvious, while noting they both shared the same foundation—playing street football for love and with smiles on their faces. However, the former midfielder said although both had good careers, Ronaldinho 'took it higher.'

The comparison debate stems from Arteta's recent remarks about his PSG teammates. Okocha's response highlights the mutual respect between the two flair players, while acknowledging different career trajectories. Both players revolutionized modern football with their creative styles, though Ronaldinho's Barcelona achievements, including the 2006 Champions League and 2004 Ballon d'Or, represent a higher level of team success than Okocha's individual brilliance achieved during his Bundesliga and Premier League stints.
