Former Super Eagles captain Sunday Oliseh has named Ademola Lookman as Nigeria's most important player at the ongoing AFCON tournament in Morocco. Speaking on the Global Football Insights podcast, Oliseh highlighted the Atalanta forward's forward-focused approach, noting that Lookman 'almost never passes one ball backward' and consistently plays forward, which he says made the difference for Nigeria.

Lookman's stats back up Oliseh's assessment. The 28-year-old has netted three goals and provided four assists so far in the tournament. His creative output has been central to Nigeria's attacking play under coach Eric Chelle.

Nigeria will look to Lookman to spearhead their charge against hosts Morocco in the quarterfinal clash scheduled for Wednesday. The match represents a crucial test as the Super Eagles aim for continental glory.

Is Lookman's forward-focused style the blueprint for modern Nigerian attacking play, or is his success dependent on the midfield structure behind him?
