Patrick Doyle announces death of newborn daughter Omayinuwa
Broadcaster and actor Patrick Doyle has announced the death of his newborn daughter, Omayinuwa Harriet. The child was born to his third wife, Funmilayo, on Friday, April 10 at approximately 10:40 a.m., but passed away the following day, Saturday, April 11, at 4:15 p.m. Omayinuwa lived for just one day and six hours.
The 65-year-old Delta-born actor described his daughter's brief time with the family as bringing 'great joy.' In his Facebook post, Doyle wrote that Omayinuwa 'visited us briefly at about 10:40 am on Friday, 10th April and returned to heaven on Saturday, 11th April at about 4:15 pm. Her stay was short, but it brought great joy.'
Doyle, who married 27-year-old Funmilayo after divorcing actress Iretiola Doyle, expressed faith in God despite the loss. This marks the second time the actor has experienced the death of a child, as he previously lost his first wife, Rosamond Ndidi Doyle, to sickle cell disease in 1999.
