The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT) has resolved to reconcile with aggrieved members to end its leadership crisis. It formed a special committee to work with legal teams and stakeholders for party unity. The BoT, led by Adolphus Wabara, is exploring a Court of Appeal window for reconciliation. It called on all leaders and members to set aside personal interests for the party's good, especially ahead of the 2027 elections. The BoT disagrees with the Court of Appeal's ruling that invalidated the Kabiru Turaki-led National Working Committee (NWC), which emerged from a November convention. The PDP faces a deep factional crisis with two main factions, threatening its survival as Nigeria's main opposition party in 2027.
