PDP Crisis: Turaki Faction Opens Door for Reconciliation with Wike’s Camp
PDP factions may reconcile after Court of Appeal ruling. Umar Sani, a PDP chieftain, stated the Kabiru Turaki-led National Working Committee (NWC) and Board of Trustees (BoT) met to discuss reconciliation as proposed by the Appeal Court. Sani emphasized embracing the court's reconciliation proposition to ensure party unity ahead of the 2027 elections. Former Senate President Bukola Saraki also advised factions to bury the hatchet. However, Sani questioned the legitimacy of a national convention proposed by the opposing faction, citing their suspension by the court. The NWC and BoT will debate three issues today, including approaching the Supreme Court and reconciliation, with decisions forwarded to the expanded NEC meeting.
