PDP NEC resolves zoning arrangement for national convention

The Peoples Democratic Party's National Executive Committee (NEC) has confirmed that the party's zoning arrangement will serve as the framework for its upcoming national convention. This decision was made during the 107th NEC meeting in Abuja on Monday, March 23, 2026. The committee ratified nationwide ward, local government, state, and zonal congresses, commending leaders for peaceful processes. It also assessed the electronic membership registration exercise, expressing satisfaction with progress. On party structure, NEC reaffirmed the zoning formula for national elective offices, stating it aligns with principles of fairness and inclusiveness. The convention, themed 'A Convention of Inclusiveness, Unity and Renewal,' will guide the nomination process for aspirants. NEC advised all interested candidates to adhere strictly to party guidelines and timelines for form sales, which have commenced.
