PDP sets up appeal panels for primaries, meets June 8-10
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), backed by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, has constituted Appeal Panels to address petitions from its primaries for presidential, governorship, state and National Assembly positions.
The panels were established to promote transparency and fairness in the party's electoral process ahead of forthcoming elections. National Chairman Abdulrahman Mohammed chairs the 24-member governorship and presidential appeals panel, while Suleiman Afolagbe heads the 9-member states and National Assembly panel.
The states and National Assembly appeals panel will meet June 8-9, while the governorship and presidential panel meets June 10. Both panels will sit at the party's national headquarters in Abuja. The panels will review complaints from aggrieved contestants and stakeholders, making recommendations in line with the party's constitution and electoral guidelines.
With these appeal processes underway, how might the resolution of internal disputes affect PDP's electoral strategy for the upcoming elections?
