Peter Obi denied ever being asked to serve as Atiku Abubakar's running mate for the 2027 presidency, stating he was never in a political party where such an offer was made. In a Thursday Arise Television interview, Obi dismissed reports of his refusal, reiterating his September 2024 position that he would not ally with those focused solely on state capture or winning elections over national development.

He explained that with both candidates now representing different parties—Obi for the NDC and Atiku for the ADC—negotiations occur at the party level, not between individuals. 'It’s no longer me saying I don’t want to be this or that... we have passed that stage,' Obi said, framing opposition talks as corporate-style mergers requiring shared goals on education, health, and poverty alleviation.

As speculation grows about opposition strategy against the APC-led government, what key priorities should voters demand from any potential coalition ahead of 2027?
