The command’s spokesperson, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday in Osogbo. He said weapons recovered from the suspects include one single-barrel gun, one live cartridge, and one cutlass. He reiterated the command’s commitment to upholding the human rights of citizens and assured that those involved in the criminal act would be prosecuted to serve as a deterrent to others. Ojelabi said efforts were also ongoing to track and arrest fleeing suspects. He urged members of the public to be law-abiding and refrain from acts capable of causing a breakdown of law and order. The command’s spokesperson appealed to residents to provide useful and timely information that would aid policing in the state. The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the command had on Thursday said its personnel, who went to keep the peace between the Erin-Osun and Ilobu communities, were attacked by some hoodlums. The command said a video showing police personnel being assaulted by the hoodlums during the operation in the area was in circulation.
