Police disown unauthorized AFRIPOL 2026 program circulating online

Nigeria Police Force has distanced itself from an unauthorized 'AFRIPOL 2026' program circulating online, describing it as misleading and unapproved. In a statement from Abuja, Police spokesperson DCP Anthony Okon Placid clarified that NPF neither approved, endorsed nor authorized the event, and condemned the unauthorized use of AFRIPOL's name.

The police explained that AFRIPOL refers to the official African Union Mechanism for Police Cooperation established under continental framework, not a platform for private individuals to host unauthorized programmes. The statement also clarified that the leadership did not authorize use of IGP Olatunji Disu's image, the official NPF logo, or the Force's identity in connection with this event.

Members of the public and corporate organizations are advised to disregard the publication and avoid any sponsorship, payment, or engagement linked to the purported AFRIPOL 2026 programme. Police warn that participation in this unauthorized event would not have backing or recognition of Nigeria Police Force.
