World Bank debars PwC's African subsidiaries for 21 months after collusive fraud in Ethiopia-Kenya electricity project. PricewaterhouseCoopers Associates Africa Ltd (Mauritius), PwC Kenya, and PwC Rwanda found guilty of manipulating procurement processes for Eastern Electricity Highway Project. Firms admitted culpability and agreed to remedial measures including staff training and subconsultant termination. Debarment sidelines PwC from lucrative World Bank-funded projects across emerging markets, potentially disrupting startups reliant on IFC funding. World Bank's IFC committed $20 million to Kenyan, Nigerian, and South African startups Monday.
