Real Madrid beat Barcelona 2-1: Mbappe double closes gap to three points

Real Madrid edged Barcelona 2-1 at the Bernabeu Sunday, with Kylian Mbappe scoring twice to cut the LaLiga leaders' advantage to three points. Raphinha had equalized for Barca before Mbappe's winner.

Manager Jose Mourinho praised his side's bravery under Barcelona's high press, saying his players "did not panic or lose focus" after the equalizer. He admitted Madrid played a dangerous game by not scoring a second goal earlier to go two-up.

The victory keeps Madrid in the title hunt with 11 matches played. Their next league test is away at Racing Santander, followed by a Champions League trip to AEK Athens.

For Nigerian fans tracking the Spanish title race, this result means Barcelona's lead is no longer comfortable. Mbappe's form — two goals in a Clasico — signals he's hitting stride at the right time.

Will Madrid's momentum sustain a genuine title challenge, or will Barcelona's depth see them through the remaining fixtures?
