Rev. William Okoye, ACFM founder and former Aso Villa Chaplain, dies at 68
Reverend William Okoye, founder and General Overseer of All Christians Fellowship Mission (ACFM) and former Chaplain of the Aso Villa Chapel, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 15, according to a statement from the mission's Board of Trustees signed by Godwin Tsee.
Okoye served as Chaplain during the administrations of former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan. He also held leadership positions including Chairman of CAN, FCT Chapter, Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), FCT Chapter, and CAN National Director on National Issues and Social Welfare. Additionally, he served on the Presidential Advisory Council on Youth Affairs, National Political Reform Conference, and Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission.
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), in a statement signed by President Daniel Okoh, described Okoye as a humble servant of God who dedicated his life to preaching the Gospel and strengthening Christian witness in Nigeria. He is survived by his widow Toyin Okoye, children including Victor Okoye of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), and the wider Christian community.
The mission is consulting with the family on funeral arrangements, with details to be announced through official channels. Bishop Okoh urged Christians to thank God for Okoye's life of service and prayed for comfort for the bereaved family and ACFM community.
