Russian Court Bans Oscar-Winning Documentary
A Russian court banned the Oscar-winning documentary 'Mr Nobody Against Putin' from streaming platforms, alleging it promotes 'negative attitudes' about the government and the war in Ukraine. The film documents pro-war propaganda lessons at a Russian school, using footage smuggled out by the school's videographer. The court also objected to displaying a banned opposition flag. This follows Kremlin efforts to suppress dissent and promote its Ukraine war narrative in education. The documentary won Best Documentary at the Oscars earlier this month.
