Public policy analyst Deyemi Saka told Arise Television on Sunday that President Bola Tinubu's omission of primary and secondary school qualifications from his 2027 presidential nomination papers should not be controversial since he has met constitutional requirements through his verified university degree. Saka's comments came amid public debate following INEC's publication of nomination documents for the January 16, 2027 election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission released candidate particulars on Saturday showing Tinubu listed only his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Chicago State University (obtained 1979) and National Youth Service Corps certificate in the education section, with no details for primary or secondary schooling. Tinubu also stated he was born March 29, 1952 in Lagos, listed his occupation as 'Politician', and outlined employment history including roles at Mobil Nigeria Limited, as Governor of Lagos State, and as current President of Nigeria.

Saka emphasized the certificate authenticity has been verified and Tinubu fulfills all eligibility criteria, suggesting Nigerians should focus on substantive policy issues with the president rather than this qualification discussion. INEC's timetable confirms the election is scheduled for January 16, 2027, with nomination papers published as part of standard electoral preparations.
