Senate created ambiguity in Electoral Act passage – Bugaje
Former lawmaker Usman Bugaje criticized the Senate for creating ambiguity in the Electoral Amendment Act, stating they resisted real-time electronic transmission of election results. He claimed the Senate caved under pressure by introducing ambiguity after initially opposing mandatory e-transmission. The Act was signed into law by President Tinubu 24 hours after National Assembly passage. Bugaje's comments came during an interview on Channels Television's 'Sunday Politics'.
