Senate Committee on Finance demands Hussaini Magaji's removal for repeatedly skipping oversight meetings. The committee, chaired by Sani Musa (APC, Niger East), resolved to recommend Magaji's termination after he failed to appear despite multiple summons. Orji Kalu (APC, Abia North) moved the motion, criticizing Magaji's absence while ministers Wale Edun and Atiku Bagudu attended. Magaji, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), sent junior officers instead of appearing himself. The committee cited concerns about CAC's revenue reconciliation and accused Magaji of evading accountability. CAC, Nigeria's corporate regulator under Companies and Allied Matters Act, generates federal revenue through company registrations and filings. While the National Assembly can investigate agencies, presidential appointment power remains with the executive. The Senate's recommendation now goes to President Tinubu for final decision.
