Sol Campbell predicts short Rosenior stay at Chelsea
Former Arsenal defender Sol Campbell has predicted Liam Rosenior will not stay long as Chelsea head coach despite his strong start. Rosenior was appointed by Chelsea owners BlueCo after Enzo Maresca's departure, leveraging his success at Strasbourg—also under BlueCo ownership. Campbell said, "It's good to have Liam Rosenior as the new Chelsea manager... Todd Boehly owns Strasbourg. They said he's done a great job and sent him to Chelsea." However, he added, "I don't think they're going to keep him around long, he's probably just there for a short time. But it's a great experience. He can play some games and get a feel for what the top league is like." Rosenior began his tenure with a 5-1 FA Cup victory over Charlton Athletic on Sunday. Chelsea now face Arsenal in the EFL Cup semi-finals first leg at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday. Rosenior's appointment continues Chelsea's trend of hiring young managers under BlueCo. His future may depend on whether he can secure Champions League qualification or silverware this season. Will Rosenior prove Campbell wrong and build a long-term project, or is this a temporary stepping stone back to Strasbourg or another BlueCo affiliate?
