England survived a major scare against DR Congo, coming from behind to win 2-1 with two late goals from Harry Kane. The Three Lions trailed for over 60 minutes after Brian Cipenga's early strike before Kane headed home Anthony Gordon's cross and then scored the winner. Stuart Pearce heavily criticized Arsenal winger Noni Madueke, saying he was 'really disappointed' with the player's second-half performance. Madueke started but was substituted for Bukayo Saka with 30 minutes remaining after what Pearce described as taking 'the easy option' and 'giving up' when fatigue set in. Despite advancing to the Round of 16 where they face Mexico, concerns mount about England's performance levels against stronger opponents like France, Argentina, and Brazil.
