Sturridge excited to watch Liverpool teen winger Rio Ngumoha this season

Former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has named 17-year-old winger Rio Ngumoha as the player he is most excited to watch this season. Speaking on Sky Sports, Sturridge praised Ngumoha’s dribbling skills and said the teenager needs to add goals to his game to reach the next level.

He noted that Ngumoha is comfortable on the left wing but could become an exceptional right winger, urging him to deliver precise crosses when he reaches the byline and to communicate with teammates like Isak and Wirtz about his intentions. Ngumoha, who has played on the right wing—a spot held by Mohamed Salah for nearly a decade—featured in Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with Newcastle United in the season opener.

Last season, the youngster scored two goals and provided one assist in 551 minutes across 19 Premier League appearances. With new manager Andoni Iraola now in charge after Arne Slot’s dismissal, Liverpool fans have a fresh prospect to follow as the club looks to build on its recent form.
