Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle announced plans to scout for Nigerian descent players across Europe and monitor exceptional talents in the Nigeria Premier Football League in preparation for the 2026 Unity Cup. The tournament, set for May at Charlton Athletic's stadium in London, will feature Nigeria opening against Zimbabwe on Tuesday, May 26, with potential finals against Jamaica or India.

After a challenging season, Chelle will rest key players to evaluate new talent, including previously called-up players who haven't yet made appearances. He emphasized that domestic league players will be observed from now until season's end. In a press release, Chelle stated, "The Unity Cup offers an opportunity to evaluate new players. I will search Europe and invite new talents of Nigerian descent, along with those who were previously called up but did not get the opportunity to play."

Chelle previously gave debuts to eight players including Benjamin Fredrick, Igoh Ogbu, and Felix Agu in the last Unity Cup. Which Nigerian players in Europe or domestic league do you think should get called up for this tournament?
