Super Eagles Osimhen, Lookman dropped from Poland, Portugal friendlies

Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle has confirmed Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman won't feature in Nigeria's upcoming friendlies against Poland and Portugal. Poland match takes place Wednesday in Warsaw, with Portugal follow-up on June 10 in Lieira. Osimhen was excluded due to ongoing transfer negotiations with Galatasaray, with Chelle preferring he stays at home rather than risk playing below 100%. Lookman was excused at Atletico Madrid's request due to fatigue. Both players were initially included in the squad announced two weeks ago. This means Nigeria will face Poland and Portugal without two key attacking players. The Super Eagles recently won the Unity Cup 3-0 over Jamaica, but these friendlies against European opposition provide more challenging tests ahead of competitive matches.
