Super Falcons touched down in Rabat on Friday, July 24, 2026, to begin their defence of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title. The team, led by coach Justine Madugu, had set up base in Casablanca’s Marriott Hotel last Monday, with 25 players including Gift Monday and Deborah Abiodun already in camp. They will be officially received by CAF and the Local Organising Committee on Saturday.

Nigeria kicked off preparations with a 2-1 friendly win over Tanzania’s Twiga Stars on Friday. Their opening match in the tournament comes next Tuesday against Malawi’s Scorchers at Al Madina Stadium in Rabat.

As defending champions, the Falcons carry the hopes of Nigerian football fans across the country. A successful defence would cement their status as Africa’s premier women’s team and inspire the next generation of players.

Will you be tuning in to support the Super Falcons as they chase back-to-back WAFCON titles, or will you rely on the highlights to see if they can overcome Malawi’s challenge?
