Super Falcons face Zambia in WAFCON 2026 group stage draw
Nigeria's Super Falcons have been drawn against Zambia, Egypt, and Malawi in Group C of the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). The defending champions, who have won the tournament 10 times, will play their group matches at Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca, Morocco.
The Zambia matchup renews their rivalry after Nigeria's 5-0 demolition of the Copper Queens in the 2024 quarter-final. The 2026 tournament runs March 17 to April 3, featuring 16 teams across four groups. Group A has host Morocco, Algeria, Kenya, and Senegal playing in Rabat. Group B features South Africa, Côte d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso, and Tanzania in Rabat. Group D includes Ghana, Cameroon, Mali, and Cape Verde in Fes.
This edition serves as a qualifier for the 2027 Women's World Cup in Brazil, with the top four African teams earning automatic qualification.
Given the Super Falcons' dominant record against Zambia, do you expect them to maintain their perfect run or will the Copper Queens finally get revenge?
