Super Falcons midfielder Toni Payne signs two-year Inter Milan Women deal until June 2028
Super Falcons midfielder Toni Payne has signed a two-year contract with Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan Women, keeping her at the club until June 2028. The 31-year-old midfielder left Everton after her Women's Super League contract expired, having spent two seasons there following her move from Spanish side Sevilla in 2022.
This transfer strengthens Nigeria's growing presence in Italy's top women's league, where compatriots Rinsola Babajide and Shukurat Oladipo are already playing. Payne, who committed her international future to Nigeria in 2021 and featured at the 2023 World Cup and 2024 Olympics, joins Inter as they aim for domestic honours and European impact while remaining available for Super Falcons duties including the 2026 WAFCON in Morocco.
Payne cites her dribbling, speed and crossing ability as assets for Inter, describing the move as a career milestone. Her contract runs until June 2028, joining Babajide and Oladipo in Serie A Femminile. As a Nigerian football fan, does this signing boost your interest in following Serie A Femminile or the Super Falcons' preparations for next year's Africa Cup of Nations?
