Supercomputer Picks Spain as 2026 World Cup Favorite
Opta Supercomputer predicts Spain as top favorite for 2026 FIFA World Cup, winning in 16.1% of 10,000 simulations. France, England, and Argentina follow closely, each winning in more than 10% of predictions.
The expanded 48-team tournament begins June 11 across US, Mexico, and Canada, featuring 12 groups of four nations and a record 104 matches. Final will be played July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.
Brazil, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, and Belgium complete the top ten favorites. Co-hosts US, Mexico, and Canada are considered very unlikely to win based on the statistical analysis.
