Swiss minister says US-Israel strikes on Iran violate international law

Switzerland's Defence Minister Martin Pfister stated that recent US and Israeli airstrikes against Iran breach international law. Pfister made the comments in an interview with SonntagsZeitung, Switzerland's governing body, the Federal Council, shares this view. He explained the attacks violate rules prohibiting force between states. Pfister called for all sides to stop fighting to protect civilians, noting the strikes also violate international law similarly to accusations against Iran. Germany's Vice-Chancellor Lars Klingbeil expressed serious doubts about the legality, warning of a dangerous world without rules. Spain also criticized the strikes as reckless and contrary to international law.
