Tinubu Returns, Signs Economic Agreement with UAE
President Bola Tinubu returns to Nigeria after participating in the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week. On the sidelines, Nigeria signed a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with the UAE to deepen economic cooperation and boost bilateral trade. The agreement aims to enhance technology transfer and expand collaboration in key sectors like energy, infrastructure, and agriculture. A joint Nigeria-UAE INVESTOPIA will be held in Lagos in February to attract global investors. President Tinubu also announced plans to mobilise up to $30 billion annually in climate and green industrial finance to accelerate energy transition reforms and expand nationwide electricity access. Will this new agreement and investment initiative boost Nigeria's economic growth and energy sector?
