Troops Rescue Kidnapped Civilians, Seize Weapons in Northeast Operations
Nigerian military troops under Operation HADIN KAI recorded significant successes across Northeast Nigeria, rescuing kidnapped civilians and neutralizing terrorists. Operations included the rescue of an 8-year-old boy abducted during March 3 attack on Ngoshe community and a 20-year-old Fulani man (Dahiru Ahamdu) abducted May 8 while grazing cattle in Madagali LGA. Troops neutralized two terrorists in Valle, Ashigashiya, and Gakara areas, plus one insurgent along Bravo Kilo 10 axis.
Security forces recovered significant weapons including four 40mm RPG bombs, one 81mm mortar bomb, and four 60mm mortar bombs abandoned by fleeing terrorists. Authorities also arrested a CJTF member (Kuti Muhammad) for alleged terrorist links, three suspects for armed robbery in Garin Gwigwi village, and four suspected cattle rustlers at Kwaya Kusar Market with six stolen cattle.
According to Channels Television, troops maintain "high vigilance" across all operational areas in the Northeast, continuing operations aimed at defeating terrorism and restoring stability. For residents in affected regions, this indicates authorities are actively disrupting terrorist networks and criminal elements, though ongoing military presence means certain areas may have restricted movement during operations.
